I have 8:20 a.m. reservations at The Crystal Palace for February 18th, 2012. I notice the park doesn't open until 9 a.m. that day, so how does it work then and I know crowd levels are hard to forecast but what time should I aim to be at the park entry?

    Hello, Stacey!

You're in for a wonderful breakfast at The Crystal Palace!

Regarding entering the park prior to its opening, you should be at the park entrance no later than 8:00 a.m. Look for the Cast Member at the ticketing turnstiles who has the list of Guests with dining reservations before park open. This is usually well-signed also. That Cast Member will check the list for your reservation and will allow you to enter the park at that time. (I always keep my confirmation number in my phone, just in case a Cast Member needs for check-in at the restaurant.)

Now, crowd levels will be higher than other February dates, specifically because it is a Saturday AND it is a holiday weekend. Just be ready for lines to be there EARLY. While Guests are often advised to allow some time to get from the gate to the restaurant entrance, keep in mind that the bag check line may be crowded, too. With an hour to park open (from the time you should be at the gate until the park actually opens), you should be okay to arrive at the park at 7:45 / 7:50. Bag check shouldn't take more than a few minutes, then you'll find the area to enter the park with your dining reservations. A leisurely walk to The Crystal Palace and you're all set!

Be sure to have your camera ready when you enter Magic Kingdom Park, too. At that hour, the streets are beautifully empty and clean, Cinderella Castle looks even more stunning and you'll want to capture the magic that is all yours at that time, just that one morning, when the Kingdom seemed to be all yours!

Enjoy your day in the Magic Kingdom! Be sure to send any additional questions you may have regarding your upcoming vacation!
