We have reservations to crystal palace, chef michey and some other buffets... My ? Is, if someone in our party doesnt want to eat the food there, due to strict caloric limitations, will we still be charged? Going there because its my sons fav places. Thx

    Hi Jill ~

I have a special needs son that loves going to the character dining locations. He can only eat soft foods so he is sometimes very limited with the selections on the buffets. He certainly cannot eat enough to justify the cost of a buffet for him especially now that he has to pay adult prices. However, at character meals, in addition to the food, you are also paying for the experience and convenience of the character interaction without waiting in several different lines to meet each of them. It is great to enjoy the yummy food while the characters come to you. Not waiting in line to see the characters makes it worth the money for my son even if he eats very little while we are there.

I would suggest calling Disney Dining (407-WDW-DINE) and speak with them about the unique circumstance of the person in your party. Even if they tell you they will not be charged, they will need to include them in the total number of your dining party to allow enough room at your table. You can also speak with a Cast Member once you arrive to check-in for your dining reservation. Just keep in mind that every person over the age of 2 years old in your dining may still be charged especially at the character dining locations.
