Hello, Francine,
Thank you for sending your question to planDisney. What a magical day you have planned from being at the
Magic Kingdom to dining with Mickey Mouse and his pals at
Chef Mickey's! It will be a day filled with making so many wonderful memories.
I'm happy to share with you that guests may walk from the Magic Kingdom to
Disney's Contemporary Resort. Once you exit the Magic Kingdom, signs will guide you to where the path is located, or you can ask a cast member to point you in the right direction. It typically takes my family around 15 minutes to walk the distance.
You also have the option to take the
Disney Resort Monorail. When it leaves the Magic Kingdom, its first stop is Disney's Contemporary Resort. This may come in handy if the weather isn't cooperating or you find that you would rather ride instead of walking. If you have little ones, they may feel the monorail is another attraction, too! If you'd like to use this to return to the Magic Kingdom after dining, the monorail will stop at the Ticket and Transportation Center,
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, and
Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa as it makes its way back to the theme park. I always enjoy this monorail ride and getting to catch a view of the different resorts on the monorail. Of course, you can walk back to the Magic Kingdom, too.
Wishing you a magical trip! Please let us know if you have any further questions.
