We have reservations at Chef Mickey's at 11:20 am but plan to go to the magic kingdom before.What is the best way and quickest to get there and how much time should we allow?

Hi Nancy! What a fun character meal you have picked! The buffet is abundant with delicious food and, of course, you can't top hanging out with Mickey and his friends! You have two options. You could either walk from the Magic Kingdom to the Contemporary. I have done that walk many times and it can take about 10-15 minutes depending on your pace. The other option would be to take the Resort monorail from Magic Kingdom. The first stop is the Contemporary. However, you might end up waiting 5-10 minutes for the monorail if you just miss it. The monorail ride itself is about an 8-9 minutes! So, the choice is yours, but I would allow at least 30 minutes (with either option) to include time for getting around crowds and walking through the Contemporary and checking into the podium at Chef Mickey's! What a fun character meal you have picked! The buffet is abundant with delicious food and, of course, you can't top hanging out with Mickey and his friends!

You have two options. You could either walk from the Magic Kingdom to the Contemporary. I have done that walk many times and it can take about 10-15 minutes depending on your pace.
