Our reservations at Calif. Grill are for 5:55 and the fireworks are scheduled for 9. Will we be able to linger over dinner for that length of time so we can see them from the DR? Or should we keep checking back to see if a later seating becomes available?

    Hi Ingrid:

Congratulations on the California Grill reservation. California Grill features delicious California Fusion cooking and spectacular views of the Magic Kingdom and the Wishes fireworks show.

I would say that while I've never seen anyone thrown out of California Grill for lingering too long, three hours is probably the outermost length for a meal at the restaurant. If you find that you've completed your meal before Wishes, you can always return to California Grill later in the evening to watch Wishes. All you have to do is show your dining receipt to the Cast Member at the elevators that take you up to the restaurant. You will be allowed back up and can watch Wishes from the Contemporary Resort observation deck along with other patrons of California Grill. Many California Grill patrons watch Wishes from the observation deck and not from the dining room.  The audio from Wishes is piped into the dining room and observation deck.

In between your meal and Wishes, feel free to ride the monorail, shop at the Contemporary Resort's shops, or just marvel at the lobby's 90-foot, floor-to-ceiling ceramic mural created by Disney Legend, Mary Blair.

Enjoy your vacation, meal and fireworks show.
