Hey there, John. Thanks for stopping by
planDisney with your question.
Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground is one of my family's favorite places to stay while vacationing at Walt Disney World. We always stay in a cabin over Christmas and have the best time. In fact, we just stayed there a few weeks ago and spent many afternoons splish-splashing around in the pool!
Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground (where you are staying) and
Disney's Wilderness Lodge are actually two separate resorts. I think you'll be happy to know that as a Guest staying in one of the cabins, you'll have full access to all of the
amenities at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. There you'll find
two pools for your enjoyment. Meadow Swimmin' Pool is the main pool area for this resort. There's a super fun 67-foot-long corkscrew waterslide, a splash pad for the little ones and a whirlpool spa to relax in after a long day at one of the Walt Disney World Theme Parks. This area also has a great snack bar attached to it, the
Meadow Snack Bar. If you are enjoying a pool day and need a bite to eat, I highly suggest the Meadow's Loaded Chips. These chips are piled high with pulled pork, cheese sauce and jalapenos and are my absolute favorite! If you are looking for something a little bit more relaxed, there's also another pool that you are welcome to use at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. The Wilderness Swimmin' Pool, which is located closer to the cabins, is a smaller leisure pool with several chairs for lounging and a whirlpool spa. There's no snack bar offered at this quiet pool so be sure to pack a cooler if you are planning to spend some time there. This resort does not supply pool towels at either pool so you'll want to throw those in your pool bag too!
Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground is a very large, spread-out resort. If you haven't already, you might want to consider
renting a golf cart for your stay. Golf cart rentals can be picked up right on property but I do suggest booking ahead of time because during busy times of the year, they can sell out. The golf carts can seat 4 people comfortably and can be plugged in right at your cabin when they need a charge.
I truly hope you enjoy staying in the cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground as much as I do. If you have any other questions before your vacation, I'd love for you to come back and ask me.
