We have reservations at the Beach Club starting on December 27, 2023. Does this include free magic bands for our family or do we need to purchase them?

    Hi Lauren, welcome to planDisney!

A stay at Disney's Beach Club Resort is truly a gift that keeps on giving. I checked out less than two weeks ago and my nose still vividly remembers the refreshing aroma that greets you in the lobby. My feet remember the thrill of being within walking distance of two theme parks (Disney's Hollywood Studios and EPCOT). My eyes remember the breathtaking views around Crescent Lake. My heart remembers the reminders I gave it to savor every magic moment.

MagicBands are the convenient wrist accessory that let Guests tap into Walt Disney World Resort magic at theme park entry, at Lightning Lane entrances, and with Disney PhotoPass photographers. As a Disney Resort hotel Guest, they can also serve as a room key and charge card. MagicBands are no longer complimentary for Disney Resort hotel Guests, though they can be purchased online through your My Disney Experience account for a discount. On my family's most recent visit, I saved 20 dollars total on two MagicBand+ designs for my kids. To take advantage of the pre-arrival discount for Disney Resort hotel Guests, click "Get Started" on the MagicBands and Cards page of your My Disney Experience account. Everyone in your party must select or decline a MagicBand in order for the order to be placed, and orders must be placed at least 11 days before arrival to be shipped to your home. Purchases made 6-10 days before arrival will be delivered to your Disney Resort hotel.

Pre-arrival MagicBands can be customized with a name for no additional cost and come linked to an individual's My Disney Experience account or account profile. Keep in mind that MagicBand+ designs must also be paired to a mobile device and fully charged before use.

As convenient as MagicBands are, Lauren, it's important to note that they are not required. Other methods of entry that can be used at theme park entry and Lightning Lane entrances include a Disney MagicMobile pass and an admission card. Disney MagicMobile passes can be downloaded to the digital wallet of eligible mobile devices in the My Disney Experience mobile app (three small lines at the bottom right of the app's homepage > Disney MagicMobile). You can also use the app to unlock your Disney Resort hotel room (three small lines > Resort Hotel). You can pick up admission cards, sometimes referred to as Key to the World cards, at the front desk of Disney's Beach Club Resort, which also serve as your room key.

Your MagicBand and/or Key to the World card will also be scanned the first time you enter Stormalong Bay, the 3-acre aquatic fun zone shared by Disney's Beach Club Resort and Disney's Yacht Club Resort. Once scanned in, you'll receive a wristband that allows all members of your party to come and go as you please throughout your entire vacation. I'm half-embarrassed to admit I didn't take my Stormalong Bay wristband off until I had been home for two days!

Enjoy visiting The Most Magical Place on Earth during The Most Wonderful Time of the Year, Lauren. Please return to planDisney with any other trip-planning questions.
