We have reservations at Ariel's Grotto at 9:30 AM on December 4, 2013. We are staying at the Candy Cane Motel/Hotel. I see that the park opens at 9:00 AM that morning. Will we have time to get to Ariel's Grotto? We are Grandparents and Grandaughter.

    Hi, Dorothy!

Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question. I’m so happy to hear you’re planning a visit to the Disneyland Resort this week. There’s nothing quite as magical as visiting The Happiest Place on Earth when it’s also the merriest!

Ariel’s Grotto is a great choice for a meal. I love the whimsical undersea atmosphere and character meet-and-greet opportunities during “Ariel’s Disney Princess Celebration.” If you happen to be celebrating a special occasion, be sure to tell your server because you may get sprinkled with a little extra pixie dust during your dining experience! You should have more than enough time to make your way to Ariel’s Grotto by your reservation time if you enter Disney California Adventure Park right when it opens. It usually takes us about 10 or 15 minutes to walk from the turnstiles to that area, or a bit longer at a more leisurely pace. You may want to plan on arriving 15 minutes prior to the park opening time to snag a spot in the entrance line (if there is one that day) so you can be one of the first to enter.

I hope this helps, Dorothy, and that you have a perfectly pixie-dusted visit to the Disneyland Resort with your granddaughter! Please write back with any other questions you may have.

    Wishing you magic,
    Courtney
