Hello, Bob, and welcome to planDisney! You've got a friend in me when it comes to navigating theme park reservations. I've used the reservation system a lot as a Magic Key annual passholder, but also just made reservations with standard theme park tickets for extra visits during the holiday season. I’m happy to share how easy it can be to manage your reservations using the
Disneyland mobile app.
Tap on the plus sign (+) icon at the bottom of the app screen, tap "Make a Park Reservation," and then tap "Make or Modify Park Reservations." You may be asked to sign into your MyDisney account if you haven't already done so. Once you tap the "Book Theme Park Reservation" button, you should see both your standard ticket and Magic Key pass listed. From there, it's as easy as selecting the pass you want to make a reservation for and following the prompts to confirm a date. You can view your upcoming reservations from this area. You should see the ticket type under each reservation, so you'll be able to sort out which ticket is tied to which date.
Bob, if your standard theme park ticket is not showing up in your app, you likely need to link it to your MyDisney account. This can also be done in the app. Tap the three horizontal lines in the bottom corner of the screen (☰) and tap "My Tickets & Passes" near the top. To link a new ticket, tap the blue circle with a plus sign (+) at the top of the screen and then tap "Link Tickets & Passes". If you have that printed eTicket handy, it's easy to scan the barcode with the camera on your device by tapping the blue "Open Camera" button. Alternatively, you can tap the "Type ID" link at the top of the screen and enter the ticket number manually. Remember that the ticket number (shown under the barcode on the eTicket) is different from the confirmation number.
I see you have a visit planned just as
Holidays at the Disneyland Resort is kicking off. It's my absolute favorite time of year to be at the parks, with festive decorations, a towering tree, twinkling lights, and holiday overlays for "it's a small world" and Haunted Mansion. You'll also have a chance to see the
Christmas Fantasy Parade, which features marching toy soldiers and dancing reindeer.
Of course, as a Magic Key annual passholder, you can enjoy the Disneyland Resort for a whole year. Have you had a chance to experience all of the fun of the
70th Anniversary Celebration, yet? I recently went with my mom and sister to California Adventure for the
World of Color Dessert Party, which was fantastic. We each received a treat box filled with desserts and snacks, and enjoyed the new World of Color show in seats with the perfect view. I highly recommend that if you have a chance sometime soon!
Bob, I hope you continue to have a magical year of visits to the Disneyland Resort. Please let us know if you have any other questions. We're always happy to help here at planDisney!
Your pal,
Kriss
