Hi Tayvin, and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.
Pandora – The World of Avatar is one of my favorite places in Walt Disney World. The otherworldly beauty, amazing attractions, and super delicious food make it a must-visit for my family. There are a few things to unpack in your strategy, so I’m going to make like the scientists in the Valley of Mo’ara and do some analysis.
When I was recently in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Cast Members told me that Guests are arriving as early as 5:00 a.m. to rope drop Avatar – Flight of Passage. My family arrived an hour before Extra Magic Hours on our recent visit, and we still waited 2.5 hours for Flight of Passage. We were let into the park and into the queue before the park actually opened, so be aware that you may find Guests already in the queue after you finish your breakfast.
Another consideration is that
Tusker House has a delicious breakfast (hello, Jungle Juice), and the character interactions are fabulous. If you want to meet all the characters, you might not be done in under an hour. The path that connects the Africa section of the park to Pandora is usually blocked off by Cast Members who are managing the Flight of Passage queue, so you will likely have to go back to Discovery Island and then over to Pandora.
One last thing: in my experience, the queue for Na’vi River Journey was not bad first thing in the morning. My advice is to ask a Cast Member when you enter Disney’s Animal Kingdom about what is the best strategy for enjoying breakfast and heading over to the attraction. Procedures seem to change all the time, so it’s hard to predict just what will happen on the day you visit.
Tayvin, enjoy your visit to beautiful Pandora!
Wishing you a magical vacation,
Robyn
