    I have a reservation for 4 at Trader Sam's however my party is 6 people. The system would not let me make an overlapping reservation to accommodate my entire party. Will they accept 6 when I show up?

    Hi there, James!

    Thanks for stopping by planDisney, it's great to meet you! Making dining reservations for a larger party at the Disneyland Resort can be a little tricky, but I have a few tips to see if we can get Trader Sam to make a good deal with you.

    Trader Sam's Enchanted Tiki Bar sits in the middle of the lush Disneyland Hotel property and it's one of my favorite spots! Reservations can be hard to come by, so I'm glad you have one for most of your party. Because Sam's bar is small, there's no guarantee that there will be room to add two more people to your reservation when you arrive. I would do a couple of different things as your trip approaches:

    1. In your Disney account go to "My Disneyland" at the top right and select "My Plans" to see your current reservation. There will be a "Change Reservation" button for your Trader Sam's reservation on the right side. On the next screen, you can change the number of people in your party and then "Search" for availability. If a new time appears that works for your group, that's great! You can change your reservation. If not, just click "Cancel" at the bottom left. I would try this every morning until your visit.
    2. After you try to modify your reservation, the next thing I would try is searching for a new reservation for a party of two within an hour or so of your current reservation. If you can get another reservation close to your time then you can arrive at Trader Sam's a little early and see if you can politely strike a deal to be seated near each other.

    If the Tiki Gods don't grant you a reservation before you arrive, give the Mobile Dine Walk-Up List a try in the Disneyland Mobile App. There may also be a few same-day walk-up reservations available, so it's worth visiting Sam a little earlier in the day to see what options there might be for your group.
