When we make reservation thru travel agent for Ft Wilderness Campground for Sept 2016, do we request our preferred campsite loop(s) thru travel agent or call WDW after reservation? We are seniors & really prefer a quiet loop.

Hi Barbara! The Fort Wilderness Resort is our favorite place to stay and we usually enjoy spending quite a few weeks there each fall and spring. It is the one resort where we can bring along our pups and enjoy the magic and peacefulness this resort offers.

When you have your travel agent make the reservation they can state on it that you request a specific site. They will also want to know the length of your recreational vehicle and if you are bringing pets. There are four categories for the loops so you will want to know exactly which you will hope to be in during your stay.

The partial 1500 and 2000 loops are strictly for the tent and pop up campers. They have water, electricity, short pads and pets are not allowed.
Full hook-up campsites have paved and partial sand pads and include power, water, sewer, and cable and most are pet friendly. These sites are 1600-1900 and the most private and quiet loops. This might be perfect for you but do note that they are a bit more secluded so more distance to the Trading Posts, marina, Trails End restaurant, and pool. Inner loop buses will be available to take you to your destination so many still like the quiet.
Preferred campsites, 100-300, include water, power, sewer, cable and are closest to the marina area and the original sites. They can tend to have a crowded feeling.
Premium sites are loops 400-1400. They include all the amenities as listed above and some of these are pet friendly. These sites have the largest paved pads and can comfortably accommodate the largest vehicles.

Prices vary for the different type of loops and each will include a picnic table and a grill. Have your travel agent note on your reservation your loop request and then call again a few weeks ahead to confirm this request at 407-934-7639. Happy camping to you both and I know you will love your vacation at Walt Disney World's Fort Wilderness Campground
