How do I make a reservation for Thanksgiving

Hi Winston! Thanks so much for stopping by planDisney with your question. Celebrating Thanksgiving at Walt Disney World is one of those experiences that feels extra cozy and magical, so I totally get wanting to make sure your table is reserved.

Here’s how to do it: once you’re within 60 days of your arrival, you’ll be able to make Advance Dining Reservations (ADRs) through the My Disney Experience app or via the official Disney dining website. For a holiday meal like Thanksgiving, you’ll want to lock those in as soon as possible. Those special Thanksgiving-style menus tend to fill up quickly.

If you’re wondering where to try for Thanksgiving dinner, here are some of my personal favorites to get your wheels turning:

    • Liberty Tree Tavern in Magic Kingdom is a classic pick. It serves a Thanksgiving-inspired menu year-round, with all the comfort food staples: turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, and seasonal veggies. And because it’s “all you care to enjoy,” going back for seconds is part of the fun.
    • Whispering Canyon Cafe at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge often offers a special holiday prix fixe dinner on Thanksgiving, with hearty skillets and seasonal flavors that fit the occasion perfectly. I enjoyed a special Christmas Day meal with my kids last year, and they are still talking about how good the food was. They had so much fun with all the shenanigans that happen at this not-quite-whispering restaurant!
    • Steakhouse 71 at Disney’s Contemporary Resort features turkey and holiday dishes alongside its regular offerings on Thanksgiving Day. This location feels a little more sophisticated for a special dinner.
    • Sanaa at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge mixes in holiday touches to its regular menu. Think turkey with distinctive flavors, seasonal sides, and more.

A few tips from my “been-there” side of things:

    • If your first choice is fully booked, don’t give up. Keep checking because reservations open and shift frequently.
    • Be ready early! I schedule my ADRs exactly at the 60-day mark, sometimes even a second after I can, just so I don’t miss that prime slot.
    • Use the Walk-Up List feature in the My Disney Experience app on the day itself. Sometimes you can snag a spot when other Guests change plans.

Thanksgiving at Disney is extra special! The flavors, the ambiance, the little details. It might even become your favorite holiday memory. I can’t wait for you to enjoy a festive meal at the most magical place on earth!

I hope this helps you plan a delicious and unforgettable Thanksgiving dinner during your visit. If you need any more tips, come back and see us, and we’ll get you Thanksgiving-ready. Don’t forget to pack those stretchy pants!

    See ya real soon,
