My reservation is for Sunday Dec 3 at the campground. I'm leaving on Sat and planned to stop near DW at a truck stop or rest area. If I get in late Sat night, can I stay in the parking lot overnight?

    Hi Joe!

You will love your stay at the Fort Wilderness Campgrounds during your upcoming Walt Disney World vacation. If you are a return guest then you know all the exciting things that await you here at the “Fort”.

Disney will not allow any overnight camping in their overflow lots. If you arrive late Saturday and there is a site open they will be glad to accommodate you and place you on it. However, you would also have to be charged a full day rate for those few hours. The decision will be up to you as to whether you want to risk availability, go ahead and get a Saturday night reservation which will allow you to arrive late and have a place, or stop short of Disney and arrive on Sunday. Since we drive from northern Indiana or Michigan each year I understand the time it takes. I prefer not to push and arrive rested but we have done it both ways. Depending on the time of year traffic is also a consideration as there are spots when the interstates can be quite backed up.

Arrive safely and enjoy your wonderful adventure that awaits in the Fort Wilderness Resort!
