We have a reservation at Storytellers Cafe at 7:20am. Will the parking structures be open?

Greetings, Elysia, and welcome to planDisney! I'm so excited for your Storytellers Cafe breakfast – there's nothing like indulging in an all-you-care-to-enjoy buffet and having Disney Characters visit your table! Let's make sure you're all set for a smooth arrival.

The Mickey & Friends Parking Structure, Pixar Pals Parking Structure, and Toy Story Parking Area all typically open about 60 minutes before the theme parks open. That would be 7:00 a.m. if the parks open at 8:00 a.m. I don't recommend parking there if you have a 7:20 a.m. dining reservation, because you wouldn't have much time to make your way from the structure to the hotel. Instead, you can get three hours of complimentary parking (either valet or self-parking) at the Grand Californian Hotel with a validation from Storytellers Cafe.

Self-parking at the Grand Californian Hotel is located across the street from the hotel (turn onto Paradise Way from Disneyland Drive). Take a ticket at the gate and bring it with you to the restaurant. If you choose valet parking, turn towards the hotel's main entrance (off Disneyland Drive). Let the Cast Member at the gate know that you have a Storytellers Cafe reservation. You could come earlier than 7:00 a.m., but keep the three-hour timeframe in mind. I'd plan for the breakfast to take from 1.5 to 2 hours.

If you're planning to go to the parks afterwards, I'd suggest moving your vehicle to one of the theme park parking locations after the breakfast ends. You could have one person take care of that while others in your party explore the Downtown Disney District or go into the theme parks. If you were to leave your vehicle in the hotel parking area all day, you'd be subject to a maximum rate of $85 for self-parking and $145 for valet parking, compared to a $40 daily rate for the theme park parking areas (these prices are subject to change).

Before we say goodbye, I want to say how much I love Storytellers Cafe. It's probably my favorite Character Dining location. Don't miss the omelet station and waffles! If anyone in your group has a dietary request, let the hosting and serving team know that you would like to speak with a chef about dietary preferences. Everyone can enjoy a delicious meal here!

Elysia, I hope you have a wonderful time at Mickey’s Tales of Adventure Breakfast Buffet. If you think of any other questions, please reach out. We're always happy to help here at planDisney!

    Your pal,
