If I have a reservation to stay at a Disney World Resort for 5 nights, and make fastpass reservations, but then have to cancel one or two nights at the beginning of our trip, will they cancel my fastpass reservations?

Thank you for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Jay!  No one wants to ever think about canceling a vacation to Walt Disney World, but sometimes life happens, and we have to make adjustments.  I'm so glad to hEAR you'll still be able to come out for a few days this spring. Let's talk about how these modifications will affect your trip.

First off, since your trip is several months away, you have plenty of time to cancel those days.  If you booked a vacation package that includes room and tickets, you have the option of canceling without penalty at 30 days or more in advance; to receive a full refund for a Room-Only Reservation, the cancellation request must be received at least 5 days before your arrival date.

Unfortunately, if you cancel nights or tickets off of your reservation, and you've already made Fastpass+ selections for those dates, the Fastpass+ selections are also subject to cancellation. Guests receive a warning e-mail with a date of cancellation, and information regarding the Fastpass+ selections that are affected after the reservation is modified.

Here's a Moms Panel Tip: The end of your trip will have better chances of availability for hard to make FastPass + reservations (think Avatar Flight of Passage and Slinky Dog Dash) than the beginning, so don't make your FastPass+ reservations in chronological order; make them in order of difficulty and save the most coveted ones for your final days!

Good luck, Jay! Remember that we love helping Guests plan their trips, so if you have any more questions, we're all EARs!

Hi, I'm Eean from Pennsylvania!  I may have an unusual name, but my passion for Disney is not unique.  It’s amazing how many people you can find who love talking about, "The Most Magical Place On Earth!"  I'm that mom who always has her ears perked at PTO meetings, in the grocery store aisle, or at middle school basketball games waiting for an opportunity to give someone a planning tip to help make their vacation even more magical.
