Hi there, Steven!
Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question. As someone who dreams of one day skippering the
World Famous Jungle Cruise, I'm so glad you're planning on enjoying a meal at
Jungle Navigation Co. LTD Skipper Canteen. I love the way the details add a bit of backstory to the attraction and how cringeworthy jokes are always on the menu. Honestly, my list of Skipper Canteen's praises could go on for
niles and niles, but your magical vacation is rapidly approaching...so let's chart a course for answers to your question instead.
It's clear you're the 'skipper' of your party since you have already secured a dining reservation and are finalizing the details before arrival. Hats (and ears) off to you! In my experiences with
Walt Disney World Resort dining, Steven, your entire party will need to be present in order to be seated for your reservation. If possible, you might consider editing the time of your dining reservation in the
My Disney Experience mobile app to better accommodate your party. If this is not an option, I just spoke with a helpful Cast Member about your situation who suggested speaking with a Skipper Canteen Cast Member upon arrival to make them aware of your circumstances. As long as a member of your party has checked in for the reservation, there will typically not be any fees for missing your reservation window even if you are not able to be seated until everyone arrives. Located in the heart of Adventureland, waiting for the rest of your crew at Skipper Canteen won't feel like a chore. Guests have the option of passing the time under a delightful covered veranda or venturing across the walkway to the stone seating amidst Adventureland's tropical foliage.
Once your entire party has reported for duty and you are ready to dine, you'll be seated in either the Mess Hall, Jungle Room, or my favorite, the S.E.A. Room. Each room offers its own unique theming and tributes to the classic attraction that are worth noting. My husband and I were once treated to the most iconic table in the establishment, the S.E.A Room's butterfly booth, a round table tucked into an alcove lined with framed butterflies. (
Did you know their wingspan can range from one foot to a whopping 12 inches?) Even if you aren't seated at the coveted table, it's located just across from the restrooms and is worth taking a peek as you head that way. Of course, it's no Jungle Cruise adventure without the 8th Wonder of the World, so be sure to ask your skipper to fill your glass in a way that treats you to a spectacular view of...
the back side of water!
I hope this was helpful, Steven, and that your meal at Jungle Navigation Co. LTD Skipper Canteen is
pun in a million. If any other questions come to mind as you are planning, feel free to stop back by.
I'm always happy to help!
Hakuna Matata,
Lizzie
