Hi Dulce,
I have a couple of really good friends who have Celiac Disease and they often tell me about their struggles when they go out to eat with friends and family in restaurants. That being said, the restaurants in Walt Disney World Resort are pretty amazing at accommodating
Special Dietary Requests, including gluten-free diets. In fact, you may be truly amazed by the wide variety of things that your little ones will be able to eat during your upcoming visit!
I’ve eaten in almost all of the restaurants in Epcot’s World Showcase and I don’t think that you can go wrong with any of them. In your case, I’d stay away from the heavy pasta-and-pizza offerings in Italy (although I hear that the restaurants do stock gluten-free options). From what I understand,
La Hacienda de San Angel can make all or most of their items gluten-free, plus that restaurant has a GREAT view of IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth. Other great options include
Coral Reef Restaurant and
Teppan Edo.
If you’d like to find more information, there is an unofficial website, Gluten Free in Orlando (http://www.gfinorlando.com/) that includes pictures of the restaurants’ “allergy menus” so that you can see what options are available to you. Make sure to ask your server if there are any other items on the menu that can be modified to suit a gluten-free diet - they may surprise you!
Have a Magical Day,
Lynne
