Hello Amanda!
As a fellow picky eater, I can certainly help you with the non-spicy menu items at
San Angel Inn! As much as I would like to, I can't handle spicy food, yet San Angel Inn is on the top of my "must eat" list every trip! As such, you can be assured that there is plenty on the menu for everyone.
When you are first seated, you will receive a basket of tortilla chips and salsa. The salsa is pretty mild, which I appreciate! You can also order
Totopos Con Queso, which is corn chips with sides of white cheddar cheese and salsa. You can certainly just order that appetizer and you're not required to also buy an entree.
My favorite item on the menu is the Ensalada César. This salad comes with romaine lettuce, two types of cheese, and Caesar Dressing. You can add chicken or shrimp for an extra charge. Both are seasoned mildly.
If you like seafood, I highly recommend the Pescado A La Veracruzana. This seared snapper has a nice cilantro-lime vinaigrette and is not spicy nor overwhelming. The Huarache Vegetariano is also delicious and the salsa verde is served on the side so it's not too spicy.
For kids, there is a great selection of tacos, grilled chicken, macaroni & cheese, quesadillas, and chicken tenders. This is sure to appease even the pickiest of eaters.
While you are in the Mexico Pavillion, don't miss the
Mexico Folk Art Gallery. This exhibit is themed after Coco and celebrates Dia de Muertos.
I hope you have a magical vacation!
Magically,
Stacy
