I have a reservation to the resort along with the park ticket from May 10 to May 13. Weather.com suggests Sacttered thunderstorms for both these days so far. this is our first visit, I dont think we would want to spend it indoor. what to do if it Rains?

    Hi Balaji!

I'll keep my fingers crossed that you get sunny skies so you can thoroughly enjoy your first trip :-) One thing I can tell you about Florida weather is they're right when they say "scattered." It rarely rains all day long, but in Florida it likes to pour down for a few minutes, with bright sunshine right after that, and then back and forth, forth and back...

If, however, it does appear to be a prolonged wet experience. Here are some options:

    Resort
All the Disney resorts have a daily lineup of activities for the family. When you check-in, they should give you a flyer with the run down of activities, many of them indoor. In addition, resorts have arcades, shops, and various eateries you can enjoy.

    Parks
If you decide to hit the parks, I would recommend getting one of those Disney raincoat ponchos. On rainy days, we still would go to the parks and just "bear it." They will usually stop the outside rides for a period, but then start it up if it doesn't rain for a while. There's also a ton of inside rides, such as Soarin or Mission: Mars at Epcot. Many of the waiting lines are covered just for the purpose of dealing with bad weather. In addition, you have shows that take place inside and are covered. Probably the toughest time in terms of getting wet is usually entering/exiting transportation (monorail, bus, or tram).

Still, I hope this doesn't occur, but you'll find opportunities do exist even if it does. Hope you have a fun, dry vacation!
