I am in a reservation under a relative in my family. All the adults have my Disney experience accounts. How to you link certain kids to other accounts /parents accounts and not under the person with the reservation?

    Hi Beth, welcome to planDisney!

I hope you and your cast of characters are planning a visit to Walt Disney World Resort during the 50th Anniversary Celebration. The planDisney panelists recently gathered our Top 22 for 2022, which I encourage you to check out before your trip.

Children under the age of 13 and Guests over 13 that do not wish to have their own My Disney Experience accounts must have their planning profiles managed by an account holder. If these individuals already have plans in My Disney Experience such as a Disney Resort hotel reservation or a linked ticket purchase, their profile already exists. To switch children's account profiles to being managed under a different account, first make sure you are connected as Family and Friends with the person currently managing the child's account.

To connect as Family and Friends using the My Disney Experience mobile app, ask the reservation holder to do the following:

    1. Log into their My Disney Experience account on the app and click the three small lines at the bottom right of the home screen.
    2. Scroll down and click "My Profile."
    3. Scroll down and click "Show My Linking Code."
    4. Again, click "Show My Linking Code."
    5. If they're in the same room as you, show you the linking code; otherwise, send you a screenshot of the linking code, which expires in 30 minutes.
    6. Make sure "Yes, share my Family and Friends list" is selected at the bottom of the Friends and Family list.

At the same time, you should do the following in your My Disney Experience app:
    1. Log in and click on the three small lines at the bottom right of the home screen.
    2. Scroll down and click "My Profile."
    3. Click on the Family and Friends List tab.
    4. Click "Add a Guest."
    5. Select "Scan their linking code" and click the "Scan Linking Code" button.
    6. If you are in the same room as the reservation holder, hold your camera over their linking code to connect; otherwise, click "Manually Enter a Code" and enter the Manual Code listed on the screenshot they sent you in step five above.

Once you and the reservation holder are connected as Family and Friends, I recommend connecting with a Cast Member via the live chat service on the Walt Disney World website. A Cast Member recently helped switch my children's profiles from my husband's account to mine via chat and it was a seamless process. They asked me to complete two separate information forms: one with my account information and one with my husband's account information. Live chat is available from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. EST. If the chat icon is grayed out, I recommend hanging out on the Walt Disney World Resort homepage until a chat invitation appears. You can even continue with other online business, just make sure your sound is up so you don't miss the chat invitation when it pops up.

Please return to planDisney with any other trip-planning questions. We're hEAR to help!
