We have a reservation at Port Orleans Riverside and will be arriving early and going straight to the parks. My 2 yr old is going to need a nap at 1pm. Can I request an early check in? If so, will that cancel my specific room request I made earlier?

    Hey there, Hilary!
Thank you so much for visiting with the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

Disney's Port Orleans-Riverside is my FAVORITE Disney resort. New Orleans is one of my favorite American cities and Disney has done a magical job in making me feel as though I'm in Louisiana on the bayou.

It sounds as though you've completed your online check-in for your upcoming trip. If you have requested a specific building and room location, the Cast Members at the front desk will do their best to try and have your "home" as close to your request.
During a few of my Disney trips my resort room has become available before the check-in time of 3pm. I was excited to see that pixie dust pop up on my mobile device to show that my room was ready.

Changing your online check-in room request from your specific request to have a room ready as soon as possible, could change what resort room you are given. You will be given what's most readily available.
What you could do is keep your specific resort room request and if by 1pm your room isn't ready, stop by the front desk and ask to have a room, so that you can let your little one rest.

Hilary, have a magical time with your little one!
