Hi there, Brooke!
I'm so glad you decided to stop by planDisney as you prepare for your upcoming vacation to The Most Magical Place on Earth, especially since you're planning to spend time at EPCOT where the magic of Walt Disney World Resort extends beyond Earth in World Discovery, the home of Mission: SPACE,
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, and
Space 220 Restaurant.
My husband dreams of one day channeling his inner Buzz Lightyear and becoming an astronaut, but as a hospital administrator, he's not likely to leave orbit any time soon. So, I was thrilled when Space 220 opened allowing him to simulate the experience from the convenience of our favorite vacation destination. I'll never forget his joy and amazement as we completed our 220-mile journey to Centauri Space Station and he was treated to a meal with views that were truly out of this world!
Unfortunately, the prix-fixe menu and meal times of Space 220 are non-negotiable. Guests who dine during the designated lunch hours are required to order from the lunch menu and pay the lunch pricing, while those who dine during dinner hours will be required to adhere to that specific menu and pricing structure. You can always inquire with a Cast Member when you place your order to see if they can make an exception, but I would be prepared for the standard policy to be enforced. If you're concerned about paying for a dessert you don't plan to eat, I suggest trying to modify your dining reservation so that it falls during the lunch window. I know these are highly sought-after reservations, but I have found that reservations typically become available as the date approaches and people begin to change their plans. I've even been able to snag a same-day reservation now that the cancellation window has been extended!
A personal tip: Because members of my family typically share entrees, prix-fixe meals don't often work for us. For this reason, we prefer to dine at
Space 220 Lounge instead of Space 220 Restaurant. Here we are able to enjoy the same immersive experience but can dine from a separate a la carte menu of Flight Bites and Star Courses. While Guests must be at least 21 years of age to dine at the bar, any ticketed Guest is eligible to enter the Lounge regardless of age. Reservations are still recommended to dine in the Lounge, so if this sounds like something you would like to try I suggest following the reservation tips mentioned above.
I hope this was helpful, Brooke, and that you love the experience of dining at Centauri Space Station as much as my family does! If you have any additional questions about the menu or general planning, feel free to
stop back by. I'm always happy to help!
Thinking Happy Thoughts,
Lizzie
