Can I make a reservation for 8 people for Sci fi diner at Hollywood Studios

Welcome back to planDisney, Mandi! I'm so happy to help with your question today.

Visiting Walt Disney World with a big group is always so much fun. There's just something extra special about soaking up the magic with all your nearest and dearest! Some of my favorite Disney World memories come from trips we spent with friends, grandparents, and beloved extended family. We've danced our hearts out at Biergarten Restaurant, brought the whole 'ohana to 'Ohana, and sang along with the Pioneer Hall Players at the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue. These are just a few of the amazing Disney World restaurants that can accommodate the entire Family Madrigal!

Of course, not all Disney World restaurants include family-style seating - but that doesn't mean you can't visit them together as a group. In fact, my whole family enjoyed a "movie under the stars" at Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant on a recent trip!

Mandi, many Disney World restaurants will only accept reservations for a party of 7 or fewer when booking through the Disney World website or the My Disney Experience app. But I'm happy to share that there is still a way to enjoy the Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater with your entire group. Your first option is to split your group and make two separate Advance Dining Reservations right around the same time. When you arrive to check in at the restaurant, let a Disney Cast Member know that you're all in the same group, and they'll do their very best to seat you close together. As an alternative, you can usually also make a dining reservation over the phone

If you have trouble snagging an Advance Dining Reservation, it might be helpful to know that the Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater does typically offer a walk-up waitlist. You can use this feature once you're on-site at Disney's Hollywood Studios through your My Disney Experience app! Once you've joined the waitlist, you'll be notified when it's time to eat!

I hope this information is helpful, Mandi, and that your upcoming visit is nothing short of magical. If you have any other planning questions, you know where to find me right here at planDisney!

    Adventure is out there,

    Allison
