If I make a reservation for 6 people which would be 4 adults, one four year old and one infant would gratuity automatically be applied to my bill because the party is of 6? Or would it be at my discretion because there are only 5 actual meals?

Hi, Brandy! Unless your baby can throw down like the others, (s)he won't be part of the headcount / tip calculation on the final bill.

That being said, when you make your dining reservations, make the reservation for 6 people instead of 5 just to be sure that you have space to fit the baby. Many dining locations have both high chairs and infant car seat carriers. We found the car seat carriers to be a huge help if we were able to get our baby asleep prior to dinner. (We brought our car seat carrier / stroller combo with us to help us pull this off.) It's not that we didn't love spending time with our little bundle of joy during dinner; it's just that we were much more effective at dining when the little dude caught some Zzzs.
