I want to make a reservation at Ohana's for dinner to coincide with the Wishes fire work display. Would an 8:30 reservation be too early for this?

    Joleen:

Because the Wishes fireworks at Magic Kingdom have different show times, I'm hesitant to give you a straight 'yes.' I like to recommend that if you want to see the fireworks while eating at 'Ohana along with enjoying the restaurant dimming the lights and piping in the music, I would suggest a reservation about 45 minutes before show time, whatever that time is. That way, even if the restaurant is running behind on seating, you'll get to see the fireworks during your meal.

If you're wanting to have enough time to enjoy your meal and then make your way down to the Polynesian's beach area to find a chair and enjoy the view from outside (which is my favorite view), then book your reservation 1.5 to 2 hours out. Once you are seated, let your waiter know your time line for the evening. Our experience has always been good and the wait staff accommodating. If you have more time to spare than you had planned (although it's always better to be safe than sorry, especially if seating gets behind), head over to the second-floor gift shop for children's toys and sundries or if you don't want to tempt your little ones, take the stairs down to the one on the first floor to browse. It's one of the better resort gift shops.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
