I have a reservation for 4 at Ohana and am trying to make it 5. However, there’s no availability. What’s the best way to go about this? I also heard at some places the new mobile check-in system lets you to add 1 person day of. Is that available here?

Aloha Abigail, and welcome back to planDisney! We love to see members of our own 'ohana coming around with more questions. Mahalo!

I just so happen to be dealing with a similar situation to yours. My parents decided to come along on our vacation after I had made all of our dining reservations, and my mom would love to join my family of four for breakfast at Topolino's Terrace - Flavors of the Riviera. I've been checking the My Disney Experience Mobile App every day to try and modify our reservation to a party of five, and so far I haven't had any luck. I am going to keep checking right up through the morning of our meal in hopes of catching a cancelation. If nothing works out, my family will still go ahead with our breakfast, and my mom will meet up with us after.

My suggestion for you is to think like Dory and just keep swimming (well, in this case, just keep checking!). On the "My Plans" screen of the My Disney Experience Mobile App, click on your 'Ohana reservation and click "Modify" to see if you can increase the number in your party. Don't get discouraged if you don't get any results right away, and check back from time to time to see if anything opens up. Sometimes I have an easier time finding reservations just a couple of days in advance.

If the day before your meal arrives and you still haven't secured anything, you can either go ahead with your party of four or cancel the reservation entirely and try joining the Mobile Dine Walk-Up List as a group of five. To check for Mobile Dine Walk-Up Availability, open the My Disney Experience Mobile App and click on the + sign at the bottom of the screen. Select "Check Dining Availability" and when you are prompted to choose a time, click on "Right Now." This will bring up a list of restaurants that are currently accepting spots on the mobile walk-up list. A few of my panelist pals and I successfully used this feature in the spring, and we loved the spontaneity it added to our visit.

Abigail, I hope you find something that works for you, and your entire group can enjoy the delicious, family-style feast at 'Ohana. Best wishes for a magical vacation, and if there's anything else we can do before your adventure begins, don't hesitate to reach out again.

    See ya real soon!
