Hi Rene! Thanks so much for stopping by planDisney with your question. I know a lot of Guests returning to the magic and experiencing the theme park reservation system for the first time are wondering about this same situation. Let's grab a magic carpet and fly through this together!
It sounds like everyone in your original party of 5 has theme park tickets and reservations and you are looking to secure a ticket and reservation for a 6th Guest. While there is currently not an option to just add someone to your party to secure a reservation, the good news is that
theme park reservations can be canceled and rescheduled, which means reservations can and do open up! If you check the
theme park reservation calendar regularly, you will see the availability shift and change as Guests make and cancel plans. So while this doesn't guarantee a reservation and smooth sailing for your magic carpet, with a little faith, trust, pixie dust ... and patience, I would continue to refresh that calendar and be ready if you see an opening for your date. There have also been times when Disneyland has released additional reservations as the date gets closer. This won't be announced formally, but if you are diligent about refreshing the calendar you would hopefully be able to take advantage if this is the case!
One tip is to be sure you are checking both the One Park Per Day calendar and the Park Hopper calendar. They each have their own set of reservations so it may be possible that a date opens up for a Park Hopper Ticket, but is not open for a One Park Per Day ticket. With a Park Hopper, Guests enjoy one park in the morning and then both parks after 1 p.m. each day!
It does look like there are reservations available on your date for
Disney Hotel Guests. I realize this option may not fit magically into everyone's budget, just a little something I like to let friends know about. These reservations are open to anyone staying at
Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, the
Disneyland Hotel, and
Disney's Paradise Pier Hotel. I do have to say that strolling home through
Downtown Disney District and waking up to Mickey waffles is a particularly fun way to experience the magic!
Rene, I know this may not be the news you were hoping for, but I still hope it was helpful! If you have any more questions, please come back to see us here at
planDisney!
Keep wishing on those stars!
Tara
