Kyle from PA Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

Hello! If I make a reservation for myself and two of my kids, and one ends up not able to go, is it easy to modify the reservation to be just me and one of the kids? We want to book but want to make sure we have the flexibility to modify if needed!

Welcome to planDisney, Kyle. I'm so happy to answer your first question. I hope you bring many more to us in the future!

While modifying an existing reservation isn't usually difficult, there are a few things you should keep in mind. Currently, if you are booking a vacation package (theme park tickets and Disney Resorts Collection Hotel room booked together) 31 days or more before your vacation, you will pay a deposit with the rest being due 30 days before your arrival. If you cancel your reservation 30 days or more before your arrival, you will receive a full refund. If you cancel between 2 and 29 days before arrival, you'll receive a full refund minus the deposit. Cancelations made 1 day or less before your arrival (or no-shows) do not receive a refund. If you are looking to change your vacation package and you do so 30 days or less before your vacation, you may be subject to a change fee. Please note that this does not include any 3rd party fees. You'll want to check the Terms & Conditions on the website for more details.

Now if you're planning on simply purchasing theme park tickets, you'll pay for those in full at the time of purchase and they are nonrefundable and nontransferable. If you're booking just a hotel room, you will be required to pay a deposit and then the remaining balance at check-in. For 2024 dates, you can cancel a room-only reservation up to 5 days before check-in for a full refund. Starting in 2025, room-only reservations must be canceled at least 8 days before check-in for a full refund.

Now that we've gotten all that out of the way, let's talk about the things you can look forward to when you visit this August. It was just announced that the Country Bear Musical Jamboree will be opening in Magic Kingdom Park on July 17, 2024. Between this newly revamped show and Tiana's Bayou Adventure, Frontierland is certainly going to be hoppin'! The new music alone in this area will put you in a joyous mood. Plus, if you want to keep hoppin' and boppin' (and singing), be sure to check out ¡Celebración Encanto! over at the CommuniCore Plaza Stage in EPCOT. It's definitely time we talk (and sing) about Bruno!

Kyle, I hope you have a great time at the resort this summer. If you have any other questions, I'm happy to answer them for you!

There's a hidden treasure in the bayou,
    Matt
