We have a reservation for the Mickey's Chef Buffet. Will I be able to bus from Art of Animation to the Contemporary? If yes, about how long should I allow for travel time? 3) After breakfast will we be able to go directly to epcot?

    Hi Tracey,

Thank you for sending your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.  Chef Mickey's is my daughter's absolute favourite dining location at Walt Disney World Resort, it's how we begin every one of our trips.

In order to get to Chef Mickey's from Disney's Art of Animation Resort, you will need to take a bus to Magic Kingdom Park.  When you arrive at Magic Kingdom you have two options to transfer to Disney's Contemporary Resort.  Your first option would be to follow the pathway from the buses to the Resort by foot.  My family and I will always choose to walk, it is a short distance and it is faster than waiting for the Monorail.  Your second option would be to take the Monorail from Magic Kingdom to Disney's Contemporary Resort.  All you need to do is walk up the ramp and choose the Resort Monorail.  The resort is the first stop, so the ride will be short.  Disney recommends that you leave 90 minutes to get to your location, and because you have to take two modes of transportation I would tend to agree with leaving that early.  If the bus comes right away it shouldn't take that long, however you don't want to risk missing your reservation.  My family and I will typically plan to be at the bus an hour and fifteen minutes before our reservation, if we have to take more than one mode of transportation.

After breakfast you will be able to get to Epcot.  Simply follow the signage for the Monorail and take the Monorail to the Transportation and Ticket Centre.  From there you will need to switch Monorail's and take the Monorail to Epcot.

Please let us know if you have any other questions, we are always happy to help.
