Reservation made for Wilderness Lodge in December, but thinking of switching to Contemporary because I am concerned with transportation to parks and between resorts for meals. For example, how do I make it to Crystal Palace in MK for breakfast at 8:15?

Hi Shelley! Either of the resorts you mention would be fabulous places to stay for your Disney vacation. If you are only changing because of the transportation to the early breakfast you don't need to worry. The Wilderness Lodge will start heading to the Magic Kingdom in plenty of time to get to your 8:15 reservation at the Crystal Palace. In general it will begin whether it is a bus or a boat about 6:30am. Check with your resort concierge when you arrive to let them assist you in your timing.

The Contemporary is a wonderful resort with the added fun being the monorail running through it. You can take the monorail or walk to the Magic Kingdom and it is also convenient to use the monorail to change at the Transportation and Ticket Center for the Epcot monorail. That leaves only buses to Epcot and Hollywood Studios. If transportation is important to you then the Contemporary might be a nice change if it is available.

Please remember that when trying to get from resort to resort for a dining reservation you need to keep in mind it might take you as long as an hour to an hour and a half. Taking a taxi is best use of time but it will add a cost to the vacation. Generally you can go from one resort to another for less then $20 a trip so it is something to consider.
