Aloha Nikki, and welcome to planDisney!
I love planning out a good transportation strategy to get around Walt Disney World Resort, and I spend a considerable chunk of time researching these routes here at planDisney and testing them out in person to observe how accurate the times are while evaluating guest behavior on
the different forms of complimentary Resort Transportation. I can see where snagging one of the earliest spots to
have breakfast at Kona Cafe could make it challenging in the morning, so I asked the Cast Members over at
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort and am happy share some of their thoughts:
- I would normally suggest taking a bus to Magic Kingdom Park and then switching over to the Walt Disney World Resort Monorail or even the complimentary water transportation across Seven Seas Lagoon from there, but this would not be possible unless the bus from Disney's Art of Animation Resort starts running much earlier than anticipated. (I've personally experienced this on some of my previous Resort Hotel stays, but any early departure times are always subject to change without prior notice and cannot be guaranteed.)
- In this case I would either consider moving my reservation time if there's any later availability in order to be able to have additional time to use Resort Transportation, or scheduling a ride through an App like taking Minnie Van service to get there.
Hope this helps, Nikki! If I can recommend anything on the
morning menu at Kona Cafe, it's definitely the Tonga Toast or the Macadamia Nut Pancakes that are about as close as you can get to having a rich, warm and decadent dessert for breakfast - and whenever you're in doubt, always get the Liliko'i Juice!
All the best on your tropical early-morning quest to hop between resorts!
