Jambo, Lorna!Hello, and welcome to planDisney. My family's first Disney Cruise out of Port Canaveral was also paired with a stay at Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas—Jambo House. We loved the combination of relaxing on the high seas and on the savannah. I would like to plan another similar experience in the future. We also happened to have a car with us during that Land and Sea Vacation to Florida. We opted to drive our vehicle to Port Canaveral to leave our vehicle parked at the cruise terminal during our cruise and then drive straight from there back to Animal Kingdom Lodge after disembarking from the Disney Wish. It all worked out very conveniently for us. Since you plan to have a car, that would be my recommendation for you as well. Although, I do love the convenience of ground transfers between our Walt Disney World Resort hotel and Port Canaveral. It's nice not to have to worry about our checked luggage. And the motorcoaches/buses are very comfortable and relaxing bookends to our cruises. But with a car, that would leave the question of where to park it. Overnight parking at Disney World resorts is meant only for registered Guests. Other parking arrangements seem less convenient to me. And, depending on how many Guests are in your party and how long your cruise is, the cost of a ground transfer option might be higher than the pretty reasonable parking fees at the port.Whether you choose to cancel your ground transfer and drive to the port yourself or enjoy a motorcoach journey from Animal Kingdom Lodge to Port Canaveral, I hope you have a most magical time during your vacation, Lorna. Please visit us again here at planDisney if we can help with any other travel advice and planning support.Bon voyage and kwaheri, Lorna!~Tony
