Hey Howdy Hey Malcolm and welcome to planDisney!
My Disney Experience is such a great tool when planning a trip to Walt Disney World Resort. There is so much to plan for such as room accommodations, tickets, theme park reservations, dining reservations and certain activities that it is so nice to have everything linked to one site or app and have the ability to quickly check on all the details. Thank you for your question about adding your reservations to your account. Let's review a few options and get you on the path to connecting all of your plans.
When you make a reservation with Disney, this will usually Magically appear in your My Disney Experience account right after the transaction. Technology is always great until it does not work as it should, so sit tight and let's get your reservations linked if they are not all ready.
After you book a vacation package, tickets or dining reservation with Disney, you should also receive an email with the confirmation number verifying your reservation. This confirmation number will be the one you will plug into the site to get things connected. If you have a reservation for a hotel or vacation package, sign into your My Disney Experience account and towards the top, you should see several icons. Hover over the one that says "Resort Hotel" and a drop-down menu should appear. Click on the "Link a Reservation" button and plug in your confirmation number. After that step, you should be all set.
Sometimes there is a lag between when you made your reservation and when your site is updated and you might get an error message informing you that the reservation is already linked to another account. You might need to log out and completely close your browser, log back in and this should be updated.
If you have a vacation package booked, your hotel accommodations, as well as your theme park tickets, will be added at the same time. When the icons at the top are filled in blue, you have items linked to them. You should be able to scroll down to the "My Plans, Reservations and Tickets" section to see your hotel accommodations. In that area, if you click on the heading "Tickets, Passes & Memory Maker", you should also see your theme park tickets linked.
Make sure after you have your vacation package linked, you make your
Theme Park Reservations as soon as you can. To get into a theme park during your stay, you need a valid theme park ticket as well as a reservation. The reservations are free to set up and are more to help Disney set expectations and plan accordingly for staff. These can fill up so make sure to do it sooner rather than later.
As you continue to plan for your trip in February, keep up with all of the Magic that awaits over at
Disney Parks Blog. There you will hear about all the latest information during your trip as well as information on the
EPCOT International Festival of the Arts which you might have the opportunity to check out! Please feel free to stop back and let us know if you have any further questions, we would be happy to help!
Happy Planning,
Nick
