We have an 8:05 reservation at Hollywood & Vine in HS. I'm wondering if there is some sort of entrance away form the crowd of people trying to get in for rope drop and grabbing ROTR groups where we can go in early for our reservation.

Hi, Julia!  Thanks for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

I'm not normally a morning person, but that certainly changes when I visit the Walt Disney World Resort.  I like to arrive at the theme parks as early as possible, and any time that I can book an early morning breakfast reservation inside one of the parks, I jump at the chance.  It really gives you a head start on all of the fun!

Typically, there will be a separate entrance line at the theme park gates for guests who have pre-park opening breakfast reservations.  However, mornings have been functioning a little differently over at Disney's Hollywood Studios since the opening of Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance.  Although park opening procedures are subject to change at any time, Cast Members have been letting guests begin to enter Disney's Hollywood Studios about an hour before the park opens each morning.  This gives guests enough time to enter the park so that they may try to join a boarding group for Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance at the official park opening time.

I visited Disney's Hollywood Studios a few weeks ago, and the park opened at 8:00 a.m. on the days that I was there.  Since all guests were permitted to begin entering the park around 7:00 a.m., there did not appear to be a separate line for guests with early morning breakfast reservations.  Everything was moving along quite efficiently, so those guests headed to an 8:00 a.m. breakfast would have had no trouble getting to their reservation on time, as long as they arrived at the park gates by around 7:30 a.m.

I see that your trip is planned for this May.  Currently, Disney's Hollywood Studios is listed as opening at 9:00 a.m. throughout the month of May.  I would double-check the park hours as it gets closer to your visit.  It is certainly possible that the early opening times at Disney's Hollywood Studios may be extended.  However, if the park does indeed open at 9:00 a.m. on the day of your visit, I would expect that there would be a separate entrance for guests with breakfast reservations during the 8:00 hour.  If you are not sure where to go, simply ask a Cast Member.  They will be able to point you in the right direction and have you on your way to enjoying your breakfast at Hollywood & Vine in no time at all.

As it gets closer to your vacation, be sure to keep an eye on the Disney Parks Blog for any announcements regarding changes to early morning procedures at Disney's Hollywood Studios, and if you have any additional questions, please visit us again.  Have a magical day!
