First, you can look at your reservation online to see if you can
modify your booking. Head to the
Walt Disney World website and log in to your My Disney account. Hover over your character profile image in the top right, then click "View My Plans & Tickets." Scroll until you see your upcoming stay, then check to see if there is an option to "Change" or "Modify" your booking. If not, you may need to
call a Cast Member on the Hotel Reservations line.
The lead guest on the reservation is typically the person who will need to make most changes to your booking. This will complicate your desire to surprise your family. My recommendation is to surprise your family with the offer to upgrade your room, then go through the proper channels to make this wish a reality. I also want to remind you that any upgrades are subject to availability, so time is of the essence with your booking rapidly approaching!
If you're unable to upgrade the room prior to arrival, there are so many ways to plus-up your stay for your family once you arrive. The
holiday season will be in full swing by the first of December, and you can experience all the magic of the most wonderful time of the year across the theme parks and resorts. You could surprise your family with party tickets for
Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party or
Disney Jollywood Nights, or spend time traversing World Showcase in all its festive flair for the
EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays.
