Hi there, Pamela - welcome to planDisney!
Thanks so much for stopping by with your question for our team of panelists. We love to help Guests just like you plan your own magical
Walt Disney World Resort holidays!
Pamela, in my opinion, both options could work out for you, but each has some pros and cons. Parking for
Magic Kingdom Park typically opens up 45-60 minutes prior to the park's posted opening time (but this does vary). So, if Magic Kingdom Park happens to be opening early on this particular day, you may be able to park and have enough time to take the
Resort Monorail to
Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa from the Transportation and Ticket Center.
Keep in mind that you'll still need to budget extra time to park, walk or take a tram (if available) to the Transportation and Ticket Center, and then catch a Monorail to make your 7:45 a.m. breakfast reservation. The benefit, if this plan works out time-wise, is that your vehicle won't need to move for the rest of the day. The downside is that Magic Kingdom Park may not be opening early enough on this particular day for it to work out, and even then, you'll need to wake up a tad earlier to make it all work.
If it were me, I'd simply park at the Grand Floridian to enjoy breakfast. It's easy and just a short walk from the parking lot to your dining location. You are permitted to park at the Resort for up to three hours for a dining reservation, so you have some flexibility in leaving.
If you can split up your crew, I'd recommend sending just one person to move the car from the Grand Floridian to Magic Kingdom parking. The rest of you can enjoy a leisurely stroll on the new path connecting the Grand Floridian to Magic Kingdom Park, or you can hop on the Resort Monorail for a more futuristic journey! You'd just want to find a place to meet up with the kind soul who moved your vehicle so your party can enjoy Magic Kingdom Park together.
I hope this information is helpful as you continue planning your upcoming trip -
please let me know if I can help answer any additional questions!
