Family Checking into Starcruiser

    Hello, I have reservation for the Galactic Starcruiser hotel the end of September. I was wondering if the magicband we will receive will be a regular model or the plus model? I already understand that they will be specially themed for star wars.

    I'm so glad that you stopped by to visit us - it's always great to receive a question from a fellow Ohioan!

    I'm so excited to hEAR about your upcoming vacation to Walt Disney World Resort. It sounds like you'll be blasting off on your intergalactic voyage in no time! If you end up exploring any other Theme Parks on your visit, don't forget to experience one of my favorite new attractions, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT - it's a totally unique intergalactic experience!

    Guests traversing the stars on the luxurious and legendary Halcyon Starcruiser on a Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser adventure will each be issued a Halcyon-exclusive MagicBand courtesy of Chandrila Star Lines. You'll use your band on board, during your Batuu excursion, and for some other fun adventures. As a normally functioning MagicBand, you can also use it throughout Walt Disney World Resort if your vacation continues after you return to Earth.

    I wish that I could share news about when the operator will upgrade to MagicBand+ for Halcyon Guests, but there is no news to share at this time. MagicBand+ launched at Walt Disney World Resort only a few short weeks ago, so there may be updated news to share soon. It's also always possible that no announcement will be made, and Guests at some point in the future will be provided a MagicBand+ or be given the option to upgrade the standard MagicBand to a MagicBand+. I do know that recent Guests boarding the Halcyon after the release of MagicBand+ have still reported receiving the standard Halcyon-exclusive MagicBand. I would honestly be shocked if they didn't move to MagicBand+ at some point in the future. These marvelous little pieces of technology can be used for so many magical experiences onboard, and my guess is that Imagineers are perfecting those experiences before transitioning over.

    I wish I could provide you with a solid answer right now, but keep an eye on the Disney Parks Blog to see if there are any updates. If you're eager to experience all that MagicBand+ has to offer, you can purchase one at Walt Disney World Resort from a wide selection of styles, including some that feature Star Wars!
