Hello, Allen. Thanks for stopping by planDisney to ask your question. My family and I love staying at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. In fact, we stay there every year over Christmas. It's such a fun place, I think you are really going to enjoy it.
Allen, the only way to make a
golf cart reservation at
Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort is by calling (407) 824-2742. I also had to wait quite a long time in December when I called to make my own reservations. I think due to limited Cast Members, the phone lines are just extremely backed up. What I ended up doing was setting my alarm for about 6:50 a.m. one morning and waking up early to make the phone call. The reservation line opens up right at 7:00 a.m. each day so I thought that might be my best shot at not waiting too long. It worked because I think I ended up waiting on hold less than 5 minutes before I was able to speak to someone to make my reservation. If you haven't tried to call in the early morning hours, I suggest giving that a shot. Currently, golf cart rentals are $62.91 plus tax each day. You will be asked to put a credit card on file to hold your reservation but you won't actually be charged until the day that you pick up your golf cart. If you just can't seem to get through on the phone and you want to risk it, unreserved golf carts are rented out on a first-come, first-serve basis. But there are no guarantees that there will be any golf carts unreserved to rent. You can pick your golf cart up starting at 1:00 p.m. on the first day of your reservation and then you'll need to return it by 11:00 a.m. on the day you are planning to return it. To drive the golf cart, Guests must be at least 16 years of age with a valid driver's license on them at all times.
Once you get all settled in at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground and are zipping around on your golf cart, I hope you'll stop by
P & J's Southern Takeout down in The Settlement area for dinner one night. The food there is delicious and some of the best value you'll find at Walt Disney World. My family's favorite meal to enjoy there are the ribs and chicken dinner. This meal is a full slab of barbecue ribs, 8 pieces of fried chicken, a full loaf of cornbread and 4 sides. The side options include mashed potatoes and gravy, macaroni and cheese, baked beans, coleslaw and french fries and there isn't a bad one in the bunch. All of this food rings up at only $44.99 and feeds 4-6 people. We've comfortable fed 5 (4 adults and 1 teenager) with food leftover. If you have any room left after this meal, I also recommend grabbing one order of strawberry shortcake to top off your meal. It's a perfect light sweet treat to end your meal. You can order this meal to go or you can enjoy it at one of the tables inside of the currently closed restaurant, Trails End, or one of the many picnic tables set up outside.
Allen, I hope you are able to get through to reserve your golf cart soon. I think calling as early as you can is the way to go. If you have any other questions about staying at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, please do feel free to come back and
ask me.
Have fun!
