Hi Mandy,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thank you for asking us a question. If you want to know how things work at Walt Disney World Resort, you’ve come to the right place!
My favourite way to watch
Happily Ever After at Magic Kingdom Park is definitely to attend the
Magic Kingdom After-Fireworks Dessert Party. I just love ending my night on a “sweet” note, without having to worry about rushing to the viewing area to get a perfect view of the show.
Based on my experience, the time of your reservation for the “after party” is when you can start checking in at the podium located near Tomorrowland Terrace Restaurant. There, the Cast Member will give you a wristband, which will allow you to access the Plaza Garden Viewing Area. So, in your case, you’d be allowed to check in and head to the reserved viewing area as of 7:00 pm.
Once the fireworks are over, you’ll absolutely still be allowed to head over to the restaurant in order to enjoy the “dessert” portion of your party, regardless of when Magic Kingdom Park actually closes for the day. The only recommendation that I would make is, if you’re planning to use
Disney Resort Transportation to head back to your Disney Resort Hotel, to make sure that you leave the Park no later than an hour after its scheduled closing. If you have any questions, please ask the Cast Members who will be around to assist you during the dessert party.
I hope my answer helps you plan a perfectly sweet ending to your Disney Day. Please don’t hesitate to come back and see us if you have any other questions.
Have a Magical Day,
Lynne
