Hi, if I have a reservation at Droid Depot. Can I stay in Galaxy’s Edge and get in line for Smuggler’s run? Will I be allowed to? I do understand that Rise of the Resistance needs a boarding pass.

Bright suns, Karen!  Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel on your way to the planet Batuu.

It sounds like you are planning your very own Star Wars adventure at Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge.  I have had the opportunity to explore Black Spire Outpost on several occasions, and for a lifelong Star Wars fan like me, this immersive new land is a childhood dream come true!  Before you travel to a galaxy far, far away, be sure to check out these Disney Parks Moms Panel tips for making the most of your Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge visit.

When Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge first opened at Disney's Hollywood Studios, due to the large number of people wishing to travel to Batuu, guests needed to join a boarding group in order to enter the land.  However, this practice was only in place for a short period of time.  Currently, guests may travel to and from Batuu as they please.  While I think it is unlikely that boarding groups will be utilized again for accessing the land, when this system was in place, guests who had reservations at Droid Depot, Savi's Workshop - Handbuilt Lightsabers, or Oga's Cantina were permitted to travel to Batuu up to an hour before their reservation time.  Those guests were also able to remain in the land after their reserved experience as well.  Once you are finished building the droid you are looking for, you can certainly head over to Millennium Falcon: Smuggler's Run to take the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy for a spin.

Please be advised that while boarding groups are not currently needed to enter Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, the boarding group system is being used for guests wishing to experience the new attraction, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance.  At this time, guests must use their My Disney Experience mobile app to join a boarding group once they enter Disney's Hollywood Studios.  The boarding groups act as a virtual queue for the attraction.  Once your boarding group is called, you have a two hour time window in which you may return to experience Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance.  All members of your party who wish to experience the attraction must be inside Disney's Hollywood Studios in order to join a boarding group.  Also, I would recommend arriving before Disney's Hollywood Studios opens, as all boarding groups for the day are typically filled shortly after the park opens.  Of course, procedures for accessing Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance could certainly change before your visit, so be sure to follow Disney Parks Blog for all of the latest news and announcements.
