Howdy Kathy!
Welcome to planDisney. I’m excited to hear that you will soon be visiting The Most Magical Place on Earth. There is nothing better than dining with Mickey and his pals. Having Mickey and his friends swing by our table to say hi, sign an autograph, and take a picture always makes me feel like a kid again. Let’s get you all set up so you can book your dining with them now.
Alrighty, so let’s first go over all your dining options with Mickey and his Pals, then we can go over how to make your reservations. Over at Disney’s Contemporary Resorts, you will find one of my favorites,
Chef Mickey’s. This restaurant is really popular for its buffet-style breakfast and dinner. I absolutely love having breakfast here, and I think you would as well. At EPCOT you will find the
Garden Grill Restaurant. Although Chip and Dale are the main characters, Mickey and others are here too. Disney’s Hollywood Studios has breakfast, lunch, and dinner options at
Hollywood & Vine. Disney’s Animal Kingdom has
Tusker House, where you will find Mickey and his pals dressed for an African Safari. Finally, at Disney’s Riviera Resort, you will find
Topolino's Terrace – Flavors of the Riviera, where everyone is dressed in French-inspired clothing. This is my family’s new favorite, but please know that these characters only appear during breakfast.
Guests with a valid Disney Resort Hotel Reservation can make reservations for the entire length of stay (up to 10 nights) up to 60 days in advance of your arrival. Based on your arrival date, you can begin making your reservations now. Advanced dining reservations can be made through the Walt Disney World website or through the My Disney Experience app. I love to use the app because it is so simple. From the home screen, tap the plus button, then tap the first option, Check Dining Availability. Enter your party size, date, preferred time, and location, and all of the available restaurants and times will pop up. Scroll down, select your dining location, then choose a time. If, for some reason, you are unable to make a reservation, keep checking regularly. Guests change or cancel their reservations all of the time, and I’ve been able to get a reservation that was unavailable just by checking back in daily at various times.
Kathy, I hope you and your family have an absolutely magical time at Walt Disney World and that all your dining dreams come true. Please stop back by with any further questions, and we’ll be happy to answer.
See ya real soon,
Robert
