We have a reservation for a deluxe inside stateroom on Disney Wonder on Deck 1. We have cruise before on Deck 2, 5, and 6 with no problems. We are wondering if the noise from engine will be loud on Deck 1 mid ship stateroom?

    Hi Jennifer -

Welcome to the Moms Panel. Sounds like you're off on another magical adventure with Captain Mickey and his crew -- that is awesome! I love having to stay in various decks around the ship - I'm sure everyone will have their own opinion about their favorite or preferred stateroom location. But, hey... you're sailing out on the high seas on the most magical cruise liner in the world. So, chances are - no matter which stateroom you end up staying in, you'll have a great time.

If you check out various opinions, blogs and posts online, you'll notice that Disney Cruise guests have had a myriad of experiences to share about their stay on Deck 1. Most of what I've heard are very positive. There's a likelihood that you may hear engine noise when the ship is either pulling in and out of the docks, but I think it shouldn't be too bad. On Deck 1 at least, you won't hear any of the dragging and thumping noises that you'll hear if you are right below the top decks (pool area). I've had to experience that in the past, and I was bothered only sometimes during the day on a sea day, during a quick trip back to the stateroom. We usually weren't bothered in the evenings whenever we're actually trying to sleep.

Based on the majority of what I've read on boards about guest experiences on Deck 1, I think the noise level shouldn't be too bad. So, gear up for your next voyage and say "Hello" to Captain Mickey for me!

    Happy planning,
