Hey Howdy Hey Jennifer and welcome to planDisney!
Oh my gosh, it is so exciting to hear you will be extending your stay a couple of days in October! There is so much to see and experience at that time I am glad to hear you will be able to have more time and experience all that Walt Disney World Resort has to offer in the fall. Let's walk through your options when it comes to booking your vacation and then talk about a few of the many reasons the fall is a great time to visit!
One of the most accurate and up-to-date places to find availability for Walt Disney World would be online. Things change so much as far as trip cancelations and new reservations that what you see online may change by the time you are on the phone with a Cast Member. What I would recommend is that if you find availability at your resort to extend your trip with the same room category, book it! After you make your reservation, you can
call Disney and ask the Cast Member to combine these reservations and they can put in a request to do so. As long as you do it far enough out, which right now should give you plenty of time, they are most often able to do this so you won't have to switch rooms at the same resort!
Two of the big highlights that are you will be able to take advantage of being at EPCOT and Magic Kingdom. Over at EPCOT, you will have the ability to experience all that
EPCOT's International Food and Wine Festival has to offer. You will be able to stroll through the park to experience unique seasonal food offerings from many different vendors as well as some unique experiences you will only find during the festival. This super popular festival is always well attended, so if you can plan to visit during a weekday, it might be less crowded than visiting on the weekends.
One thing that all of us in the Disney community are happy to see return is
Mickey's Not-So-Scarry Halloween party in Magic Kingdom. This epic party is a separately ticketed event that happens on select nights during the Halloween season. There are so many unique ways to celebrate the season that are special to the party. They will have things like special parades, firework shows, Halloween overlays to some of our favorite attractions and of course Trick-or-Treating throughout the park. I would plan to take the morning off and rest up as you will be able to access the park at 4:00 p.m. EST and then shut the park down later that night!
I hope this process of booking and combining your reservations works smoothly for you. I hope you have fun planning the rest of your trip in October and please don't hesitate to stop back for any other questions you may have. We love talking about all things Disney!
Have a Magical Day,
Nick
