    How can I make a reservation for my daughter’s character dine in for her birthday on 3-31-2023?

    Hi there, Joann,

    Ooh! A fun character dining experience is an excellent way to celebrate birthdays at the Disneyland Resort. As you have found, the Disneyland Resort is especially popular this Spring Break season. So dining reservations at many restaurants are already fully booked. But I have a few ideas that may help you find that elusive table at one of the character dining locations.

    • Use either the Disneyland mobile app or the Disneyland Resort dining reservation page to search for available dining reservations. If you have your heart set on a specific dining location, it is best to visit the screen or page for that restaurant to begin the search.
    • Guests with existing dining reservations at most Disneyland Resort restaurants may cancel their reservations up to two hours before their reservation time. So it’s a good idea to check frequently for reservations that have become available, especially the day before and the few hours before you wish to visit.
    • When checking for reservation availability, I usually recommend searching for specific hours rather than the generic mealtimes of Breakfast, Brunch, Lunch, and Dinner listed in the app. By looking for various specific hours, you may find available times that are not necessarily grouped within the narrow mealtimes.
    • Some restaurants offer a walk-up list. To take advantage of this offering, use the ‘+’ button at the bottom of the Disneyland mobile app and select “Check Dining Availability.” Then, select your party size and today’s date. Finally, tap the “Now” button to search for nearby restaurants with walk-up list availability. You can experiment with this now. But joining a walk-up list can only be done after you have arrived at the Disneyland Resort. Be sure to enable location services for the app.
