I have a reservation at The Crystal Palace at 8:15 one morning. Can I get to-go boxes if my 6&5yo don't eat bc they want to see the characters? And how long does it usually take to eat there?

Hi there, Ashley! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thank you for your question!

A buffet with Winnie the Pooh and pals at The Crystal Palace is one of the very best ways to begin your day at Magic Kingdom Park! There is a wonderful selection of breakfast foods for adults and children alike, and you and your little ones will even be able to take part in the Friendship Day celebration with the residents of the Hundred-Acre Wood! Plus, the location of the Crystal Palace cannot be beat, as you are in the middle of all the action when you’re ready to head out! Definitely an experience not to be missed.

However, with so much excitement happening all around them, I can definitely understand that some younger children may find it too difficult to sit and eat a meal! My family and I have enjoyed the buffet at Crystal Palace several times, and it is definitely one of our favorite dining locations. During your time there, you will usually receive visits from Winnie the Pooh, Piglet, Eeyore and Tigger! They tend to come around one after the other, as they like to stay close to one another in case they decide it is time to break into a Friendship Day parade celebration with all their visitors! In order to enjoy the full experience, I would allow at least 1 hour at the restaurant. If you and your family happen to step away from your table when a character stops by, do not worry! Cast members are happy to help remind Pooh and friends to come say hello!

If you find that it is time to leave and your children are not finished, it never hurts to ask if a take-away box is available! This would be subject to cast member approval, but they will do everything they can to make sure your children leave happy, and of course they understand that these moments are exciting for little ones! The beauty of the buffet set-up and your early reservation time is that you can spend as much time in the restaurant as is needed for your children to finish their meal, and even enjoy some dessert! When in doubt, I like to remember these wise words from Winnie the Pooh; “I wasn’t going to eat it, I was just going to taste it!”

    See ya real soon!
