Hi Lana!
Thanks for your question.
Disney's Contemporary Resort is my
favorite resort at
Disney World, and whenever we stay there, we always get the Theme Park View.
If you were facing directly in front of the resort, the
Convention Center is near the right-side of the actual resort. We've stayed at the right-side, left-side, upper levels, and lower levels, and the Convention Center did not, say, obscure our view of
Magic Kingdom nor the fireworks that shoot from Cinderella's Castle. It is possible if you were at a room at the far right-end, you may be able to look down and see some of the roof, but the resort itself is actually faced at an angle, in direct line of sight to Cinderella's Castle and Magic Kingdom.
Unfortunately you can't request a specific floor or room, but from my experience, each time I've stayed there's never been a problem with us seeing the beautiful fireworks shows (or the beauty of the castle) when we were there.
Thanks, and have a Mickey Magical Day!
Terry
