Hi! I have a reservation for Coranado Springs Resort this May! I was wondering if Chime Debit/Credit cards are accepted. The last (non-disney) resort I stayed at did not allow me to use the card to check in, even though I used it to make my reservation.

    Hiya Hannah,

Welcome to planDisney! I know that we are a little way away from your vacation to the Most Magical Place on Earth, but I hope you are starting to get excited! I know I am! All of the news about Cool KIDS’ SUMMER that came out last week has got me eagerly counting down the days until my summer vacation.

Thank you for your great question, Hannah. I reached out to a Cast Member, and they told me that most major debit and credit cards, including Chime Visa debit and credit cards, can be used for your resort hotel stay at this time. I always recommend having a backup payment method available, just in case policies change. One payment method I love to use as a backup (or main source) is Disney Gift Cards. You can purchase them before your trip and combine the balances of individual cards onto one (up to $1,000). Then you can use those Disney Gift Cards to pay for your resort hotel stay, dining, merchandise, and anything else on property you may need for your trip! It is really easy, and I love that it helps me avoid overspending.

I hope this was helpful, Hannah. Before I let you go, did you know that you can bypass the front desk and check in using your My Disney Experience mobile app? With two little kids under 4, we like to use this to help us save our littles from having to wait in the lobby while we check in. We just check in on our phones before we arrive and wait for the text that our room is ready on check-in day. Once we get the text, we just head straight to our room using MagicMobile or our MagicBands to open the door! If you plan to take advantage of the water park benefit during your stay, I highly recommend doing mobile check-in. You can hang out at the water park, and once your room is ready, head there to change before the next stop on your itinerary. I hope that you have the most magical trip ever, and please come back and see us if you need anything else.

    Happy Planning,
