I have reservation at the Contemporary We were moved there because beach club is not opening. I am concerned with the bathrooms lack of a vanity for 4 adults for 5 days. Have you stayed there? I am thinking changing to a 2 bedroom. How does housekeeping?

    Hello, Renee,

Thank you for sending your question to planDisney.  I'm so excited to hear you are heading to Walt Disney World next month!  Disney's Contemporary Resort has some wonderful features and amenities that I think you will really enjoy.

Did you know that the rooms at this resort are some of the largest ones at Walt Disney World? They average 437 square feet, compared to 380 square feet at Disney's Beach Club Resort. It also has amazing views of the Magic Kingdom and Seven Seas Lagoon on one side with equally beautiful views of Bay Lake on the other side.  What really makes this resort magical is the short walk to the Magic Kingdom as well as the opportunity to travel there by monorail.  Not only do you have the close proximity to the Magic Kingdom, but also you are a short monorail ride to both Disney's Polynesian Village Resort and Disney's Grand Floridian Resort as well as a relaxing boat ride to Disney's Wilderness Lodge for close-by dining options. Speaking of dining, the Contemporary has one of the best spots for dinner:  the California Grill. Along with stunning views of nearly all of Walt Disney World, the menu boosts delicious flavors of the Pacific Coast.  While it is more costly, it never disappoints and is a tradition for my family to visit each trip. For more casual dining, The Wave...of American Flavors is open for breakfast (the sweet potato pancakes are fantastic!), lunch, and dinner; and the Contempo Café is open throughout the day for more grab and go meals/snacks.

As for the bathrooms, when we have stayed at the resort, we designated one sink to use as a sink while the other one remained dry and was used more as a counter.  It worked out well for us, but the one draw back is that the sinks are inside the bathroom. We had to be a little more creative with sharing the bathroom as only one person at a time could get ready privately. Changing to a two bedroom suite or reserving two rooms would help alleviate those concerns.

Your question about housekeeping was cut-off, but please know that housekeeping is dedicated to keeping all rooms extra clean during these times and taking extra measures to do so.  As your trip gets closer, you can find more information about what to Know Before You Go.  If you haven't made your theme park reservations yet, you can do that by visiting the Disney Park Pass system

Wishing you a magical trip! Please let us know if you have any further questions. -Kara
