Hi Gail,
Welcome to planDisney! When I am in charge of booking our dining reservations, I also try to book early times. I love starting my day at Magic Kingdom Park bright and early. I tell my family if they are tired, they can
grab a coffee on Main Street, U.S.A. as we move on to our next activity!
Resort transportation typically begins running 45 minutes prior to park opening. You have a few options for getting to Magic Kingdom from
Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. You can choose from complimentary resort transportation, like the
Walt Disney World Bus Service and
Water Transportation, which as I said will begin running 45 minutes prior to the theme park opening. If you catch the first bus or watercraft, you may arrive in time, but it will be close. You can stop by the Front Desk of Fort Wilderness before the day of your reservation to confirm when transportation options will be operating during your visit.
Another option is a ride share service. However, standard ride share services will drop you off at the Transportation & Ticket Center, leaving you to take the Monorail or Ferryboat to Magic Kingdom Park. Instead, you could use the Minnie Van Service, booked through Lyft. The
Minnie Van Service has a designated drop-off location near the bus stops at Magic Kingdom Park, so you’d be very close to the entrance when you arrive. If you’re traveling with young kids, the best part of the Minnie Van Service is that the vans have two car seats available, and the drivers are all trained to properly install the car seats for you. The ride share services, including Minnie Vans, are a separate fee based on the distance traveled.
I hope I gave you a few options to consider, Gail. When you arrive to Magic Kingdom Park, look for the signage directing Guests with early dining reservations towards the park entrance. If you have any future questions, please don’t hesitate to visit us again at planDisney!
